Terms of Service

1. What the service is

ContractFinder.ca is an independent research and decision-support tool for businesses that want to find and evaluate public-sector contract opportunities. It aggregates publicly available procurement information and provides tools to search, filter, score, and plan bids.

The service is not a government website, not a bidding platform, and not a substitute for the official procurement channels. You cannot submit a bid through ContractFinder.ca. Bids must be submitted through the official source system identified in the tender documents.

2. Accuracy and your responsibility to verify

Tender and award information is drawn from public sources and may be incomplete, delayed, reformatted, or out of date. Scores, summaries, price ranges and recommendations produced by the service are decision aids generated from that data — they are estimates, not statements of fact and not professional advice.

You are responsible for verifying every material detail — including scope, mandatory requirements, evaluation criteria, eligibility, addenda, and the submission deadline — against the official tender documents before you rely on it or submit a bid.

3. No guarantee of outcomes

We do not guarantee that you will find suitable opportunities, be found eligible, be shortlisted, or win any contract. Historical award figures are reference points from past procurements; they do not predict the winning price of a future bid. No part of the service should be read as a promise of revenue or business results.

4. Accounts

You must provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. Accounts are for a single business; do not share credentials. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use.

5. Subscriptions, credits and billing

Paid plans are billed monthly in Canadian dollars and renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you retain access until then. Monthly credits reset each billing period and do not carry over. Prices may change on notice to you; changes take effect at your next renewal. See the pricing page for current plans.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, bulk-download, or systematically extract data from the service except through features we provide for that purpose.
• Resell or redistribute the service or its output as your own product.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems, or data that is not yours.
• Interfere with the operation of the service, including through automated request floods.
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose.

7. Your content

You retain ownership of the documents and information you upload. You grant us a limited licence to process that content solely to provide the service to you. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload what you upload, and for not uploading content that is confidential to a third party without authorisation.

8. Intellectual property

The service, including its software, interface, and written content, is owned by ContractFinder.ca and protected by applicable intellectual property law. Underlying government procurement data remains subject to the terms of its original publisher.

9. Service availability

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features, and may perform maintenance that temporarily limits availability. Third-party source systems may change or restrict their data without notice, which can affect what the service can show.

10. Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ContractFinder.ca is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for lost profits, lost contracts, lost bids, or missed deadlines arising from your use of the service. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including consumer protection legislation that may apply to you.

11. Termination

You may stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, for unlawful use, or where required by law.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable in it, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

13. Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the service evolves; the “last updated” date above will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. Questions about these terms can be sent to support@contractfinder.ca.
