Indigenous Procurement

Federal measures directing a share of contracting to Indigenous-owned businesses, including set-asides.
The federal government operates measures intended to increase the share of contracts held by Indigenous businesses. These include set-asides, where a competition is restricted to qualifying suppliers, and participation requirements within larger contracts.
Qualification depends on meeting defined ownership and control criteria and, in most cases, appearing on the applicable register. Suppliers who qualify should confirm their registration before an opportunity arises, since eligibility is normally assessed at bid closing.
